Experts give talks and presentations on topics relevant to the refugee community to our students at Refugees Helping Refugees and the greater community.
Every other week, RHR invites speakers to present on health, education, social services, and even history for students as they settle into Rochester. Lunch and interpreters are provided for the students.
Popular topics for the Speaker Program have included smoking cessation, emergency service resources, and how to get involved in your child’s education. These presented by Highland Hospital medical professionals and Rochester City School District employees. By attending these presentations and trainings, our students build skills valuable for future employment and a self-sufficient life in the U.S.
